So Range Rover has launched a new model to sit between the smaller Range Rover Evoque and larger Range Rover Sport. Called the Velar, the original prototype Range Rover name back in the 1970’s, this latest model is being positioned to take on the Audi Q5 and very successful Jaguar F Pace in the popular mid-sized SUV market.
The Velar, as with most new cars today it is bursting with the latest electronic gizmos, plus a full glass roof and no less than 6 engine options. What caught my eye though was the option to avoid leather upholstery if customers wish by specifying “Suedecloth” made from re-cycled plastic bottles!
Good to see KSV Vending local lad ‘Rag and Bone Man’, Rory Graham was invited to the car launch at the Design Museum in Kensington to rub shoulders with the likes of Zara Phillips, Rob Brydon, Jimmy Carr and Piers Morgan.
