Sustainable Drinks from the Brighter
Tomorrow Programme.

The Brighter Tomorrow programme was created by Mars Drinks and now forms part of the sustainability initiatives at THE BRIGHT TEA CO.™

Previously work was done with selected co-operatives in Kenya with the aim of helping them produce a better crop in a sustainable way to command a higher price for today and the tomorrow. Over and above helping the farmers produce a better crop with higher yields, the programmes provide funding for social and environmental projects for the co-operatives. One example of this has been the development of a Health Care Centre which has made history by becoming the first known Kenyan co-operative to provide health care facilities for the community and its members.

The programme is now focused around The Bright Tea Company and a proportion of their proceeds each year are channelled towards supporting sustainable initiatives in the world’s tea communities. The Bright Tea Company are passionate about tea and supports farmer training to help farmers in Africa produce higher quality crops through sustainable growing practices.

Mars Drinks are also planning to help farmers switch from growing Tobacco to Tea under the Tobacco to Tea Conversion Project, this should provide them a higher and more sustainable all-year round income.
